Women Motorcycle Rider Celebration
Ninety women came to Bottineau for the, sixteenth annual, Ladies Motorcycle Run. This event gives ladies an opportunity to be with other female motorcycle enthusiasts and inform people that women ride bikes too. Riders from as far as 300 miles away came to the event to show their support. There were all makes and models of motorcycles from small imported motorbikes as well as large Harley Davidson hogs. The women were as diverse as the motorcycles at the weekend celebration. Some women were dressed in leather and bandanas while others wore jeans and t-shirts. The women's ages varied anywhere from teenagers to senior citizens and held diverse professions from mechanics and physicians to beauticians.The women come to the even for the feeling of freedom and friendship with their fellow motorcycle enthusiasts. Only eight women came the the first Ladies Motorcycle Run and now it's one of the most popular women-only motorcycle events in the world.
